Soil compaction is a vital part of the construction process. It is used for support building foundations, roadways, walkways, and other structures.
To ensure adequate soil compaction is achieved, project specifications will indicate the required soil density or degree of compaction that must be achieved. Determination of adequate compaction is done by determining the in-situ density of the soil and comparing it to the maximum density determined by a laboratory test.
The MCA-500 (MOBA Compaction Assistant) was created to help this process, I mean, to improve the quality of compacted surfaces. It helps the roller operator to know in real time the exactly moment when the soil has received the maximum compaction, and the compaction process must stop. The Compaction Assistant allows a more efficient use of the roll, reducing operational costs, helping to achieve ideal results in material compaction.

To prove all these benefits, MOBA do Brasil has done in 2017 and 2018 some demonstrations for clients and potential clients:

MOBA Australia has integrated its popular Single and Dual control panels CB.D2.CAN and CB.DUO2.CAN to work with a range of MOBA sensors including LS3000, MOBA Sonic, MOBA 3D Matic and more. The system architecture allows for various setup methods to suit different machinery types As you can see in the below images the system was recently installed on a Fontana Geo blade.

Alexander Wahlmann: How did you find the sales process with MOBA Australia?

Jack Healy: Great and effective. The guys from MOBA Australia were very helpful and customer orientated. The system was in stock and no lead time before the installation. 

Alexander Wahlmann: What do your typical projects look like?

Jack Healy: Trenching, Digging Foundations, Preparing land plots, parking lots, etc.

Alexander Wahlmann: Why did you choose MOBA?

Jack Healy: To be honest, the opposition was not able to confirm availability in time when the system was needed. While looking at other options, we found MOBA online and especially liked the good customer reviews and friendly straight-forward service.

Alexander Wahlmann: What is it that you most like about the MOBA 3D system?

Jack Healy: Thanks to the MOBA 3D system, I can perform many tasks independently that prior to the automation was not possible. No more Stacking & waiting for the surveyor to continue work. Alexander Wahlmann: What do your typical projects look like?

Nick Davey: Digging Foundations, Trenching, Preparing land plots, Subdivision, basically a bit of everything.

Alexander Wahlmann: Why did you choose MOBA?

Nick Davey: I was looking for a very customer orientated system provider that puts a high value on Service and Support. I then got recommended MOBA by a close friend with good experience.

Alexander Wahlmann: Did you look at other brands?

Nick Davey: Yes, but it seems that customers like us, family-owned small-medium businesses, are less interesting for MOBA competitors because we only operate on a relatively small scale.

Alexander Wahlmann: Any advice to small-medium size contractors looking to make the investment into 3D but scared about ROI?

Nick Davey:  The day you start working with the system you immediately save time and money. No more leaving the cabin and no need for additional surveying work. By working independently one gets much more digging done in a day. And you only dig once, no re-digging with a MOBA XSite 3D system. Your clientele also recognizes the difference of Quality when you turn up with a proper 3D system for the job.

Saudi Arabia invests in gold production

Saudi Arabian Mining plans to invest billions of dollars in mining and the target is to double the gold production to 1 million ounces within five years.

Saudi Arabia is not just drilling for oil. The country also has significant gold deposits. Most recently, about 415,000 ounces of gold were extracted from the earth each year. Saudi Arabian Mining Co. now plans to invest more than 7.4 billion U.S. dollars in mineral exploration by 2035 and double gold production in five years. This is what Bloomberg reports. “The MOBA Drilling System help them to increase the production. This system helps to drill the blastholes very precise and make the whole drilling process very effective. It saves a lot of time, wearing costs and a lot of dynamite”, told Engineer Fareed Ahmed Procurement & Sales Manager from Bait Al-Hamsat Trading Est.

With an annual production volume of 1 million ounces (31.1 tons), Saudi Arabia advanced into the top 20 of the largest producing countries. The plans are part of a 426-billion-dollar infrastructure program to generate resources worth up to 1.3 trillion dollars.

MOBA Drilling 3D System installed in Germany

We are proud to announce that we have successfully installed the first MOBA XSite APP drilling system. This system is a combination of MDS 2000 (2D) and Xsite APP (3D).A random position has been recorded on Test Day 1 and saved to the System. The position has been recovered on Test Day 2 with no problem. The MOBA development and end customer are very satisfied with the result.

THE TEST

The team chose a random starting point with the drilling machine and marked this point in the system and on the actual ground. To test the system abilities, the machine and all moving parts had to alter their position. On day two, the team was able to only use XSite APP to find the same point on the ground with only minimal and acceptable deviation.

The picture below shows Mister Hiltenkamp (product manager of MOBA Drilling) and Ville Junno (Service manager from NOVATRON) after the successful installation.

Currently MOBA is one of only few manufacturer that offer a 3D Drilling system where the antennas are not suited on the drill head but on the back of the machine. This way, the hazard of damage and accuracy problem due to vibration are reduced to a minimum. In addition, the GPS signal is accurate even if the drill bit is tilted.
